Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Mexican Sunflower Cuttings!
« on: January 08, 2024, 12:03:17 PM »
I知 selling cuttings of the Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia Diversifolia).  This is the ultimate chop and drop plant.  Produces loads and loads of fresh mulch.  Also produces beautiful yellow flowers that attracts lots of pollinating insects.  Really easy plant to take care of.  Super drought tolerant and grows like a weed.  Just set it and forget it.  $4 each (minimum order of 5 cuttings).  Shipping is $9.  I can cut various sizes.  Standard size is 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch.  Just let me know.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Fungal Growth on Avocado Grafts?
« on: March 03, 2022, 01:47:27 PM »
I知 noticing strange growth on some of my avocado grafts.  These grafts were done in January 2022 and I used parafilm only. The rootstocks are in 1 gallon containers and kept in mostly shade.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Any idea on what to do?  One of my grafts got massacred by this fungus or whatever it is, and it痴 clearly a failed graft.  Pics are below. Sorry if this has already been discussed on another thread.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Digging Up Established Cherimoya Trees?
« on: February 18, 2022, 04:16:44 PM »
Anyone have any experience with transplanting / digging up established cherimoya trees, and replanting them elsewhere?  I plan to move a 9 foot tall, 4 year old Fino de Jete tree.  Has the trunk thickness of a soda can.  I have to drive it to another location and plant it there.  I'm about 0 for 15 on moving avocado trees, but I've done it successfully with peach and other stone fruits.  Wanted to get an idea of how cherimoya is on the spectrum of transplanting, with avocado being in the "No way" category and stone fruits / figs / mulberries being in the "definitely possible" category.  Thanks
