Make some "mosquito bits" tea and water with it, it'll get rid of your fungus gnat issue 100%! Your set up looks great! Itll be cool to see what happens with the grafted mangosteen indoors.

I tried mosquito bits and neem cake and spinosad and they always ended up coming back. Not sure if they came back in from outside since they are ubiquitous here. The only thing that really helped was getting rid of all my mother plants.
You could try doing an application once a month or two. Once I water with it there gone but I don't live in an area where there's a lot of them. Seems like the months and months of below 32f has some plus sides hahaha. Benifitial nematodes are another option they work pretty well too.

Heat mats really helped me speed up the germination process and get a better % of successful seeds. I really think it's dependent on what your temps are where your germinating the seeds. I germinate in my basement where temps never hit higher than 70° , 85° is where I like the mats to be seems to be a good temp for me.

« on: August 25, 2023, 09:12:00 PM »
Does anyone have exp using cone-tainers? Seems like they could save me alot of space. Any pros or cons to these systems or advice on another brand would be great im on the fence right now. Looking at the 7" deep by 1.5" wide ones. Thanks in advance!

Looks great! I have a 5x10 tent now that i move most my plants into during winter works great! I could never get my plants to sync up watering indoors, an auto watering system always caused root issues just because they dont dry out like they do outdoors and different water needs.  Your humidity is perfect 55% is just about as low as i like to go before i see new growth die back from fans drying them out. I started with a 2x4 then 5x5 now 5x10 and im looking for another haha ull love growing indoors esp when its snowing and you have tropical fruit! You need a jaboticaba in the mix though haha.

SO! I finally made it back to the tree and found 1 fruit lol. My father inlaw said it didnt have a great crop this year for whatever reason, unlike other years when its loaded! Heres a picture of the fruit i managed to find it was really tasty very sweet no sour and honey dew melon taste the berry i found was also alittle bit smaller than normal. Wish i made it out sooner that one wasnt enough! Going to try to root some cuttings to see if its possible i might try grafting one if i can find that last rootstock i know is some where lol.

Ya they can get pretty bad tasting. The named ones taste better (less of the tannic taste) iv had a zill dark from fff that had almost zero of that and tasted like a cherry for the most part.. For sure graft over that sucker , i doubt it will get to much better over the years.

« on: June 23, 2023, 10:20:59 PM »
Iv got 2 fruiting pitangatubas and not 100% sure what one is a normal pitangatuba. The fruit "stem" is way longer on one than the other, not sure if this is common or not or maybe ones a hybrid of something?

24
If you guys pay the shipping ill import them for you.
