Aphids On Kaffir Lime Tree Blossom
« on: January 21, 2022, 05:05:56 PM »
Hi. I bought a very healthy 4 year old Kaffir Lime tree recently. It has minor problems with aphids which I have been keeping on top of by spraying them off with water each day. However, the plant has just started to blossom, and when I sprayed the aphids today, it resulted in the young delicate flower petals being blown off.

I presume that if I continue with this approach then I won’t get any much-anticipated limes.

Please help - what would you advise?

Many thanks,

Paul, UK

The white petals don't have much to do with the production of fruit.  All they do is attract various insects to the flower to help spread the flower's pollen.
You can do that yourself with your finders or a fine brush.
