Fix me up with 4. Are you in town?

Thanks, D

Got mine. Packaged well and nice little plants! Thanks! D

Derek has some listed in the temperate fruit section I believe.

How do they do in the heat? 100+? Thanks, D

Hi Kevin, How much cold can they take?  Do you have them planted out? Ok in your climate? Thanks! Dan

I read somewhere that there were attempts to improve them decades ago, but haven't seen any of the results. mine are very tart, very little sweetness.

Juice or preserves. Any way you would use a mayhaw or cranberry.

Hi Derek, I'll get a list together. PM me your # again please. Thanks, D

Temperate Fruit Discussion / Thai dwarf mulberry cold hardiness

I have a few of these and am thinking they need to go in the ground, but I'm concerned they may not be hardy enough. How much cold can they tolerate? Thanks! D

I have hoja santa. I'd like more yautia blanca. D

They are really slow growers. I have a male that's about 15 years old and was probably 9 when it started flowering. I have a female that has been flowering a couple of years now but no fruit yet.

I'll try my sources again. D

Thanks! I was thinking the same thing. I planted some bulbils a few feet apart. Some in full sun all day and some in bright shade most of the day. The ones in full sun died back, but the ones in shade seem fine. Lesson learned!

I've been growing true yams in my yard for a few years to get a bunch for propagation at our land South of here. Our yard is mostly bright shade or a few hours of sun. They grow really well in part sun conditions, but I see them struggling in more sun down South. Is this normal? Thanks!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Azolla as Fertilizer

Exactly. I'm trying to be as self sufficient as possible. My place is fairly high, no creeks or other flowing water. I'm thinking put it in a small pond in my orchard so it's close to the trees.

Are any of you using this as fertilizer? It makes a lot of biomass.

my Texanas are from seed. I have one flowering age male and one flowering female. They haven't made. fruit yet, but maybe this is the year. My Virginias are also from seed, from a tree less than a mile from the house. They are getting pretty big, but no flowers yet. D

Any idea on cold/heat tolerance? Thanks, D

I tried some a few years ago and they died in Summer, even with filtered light.

Good info. Yes, the edulis I started with are mostly red. I have enough now that I can see if I consider them famine food. D

Anyone growing Gymnema sylvestre? I like to get seeds. Thanks! Dan
