Marta posted in one of the other forums that her website has many cuttings (140) available starting 3/1/24.

Here's the website link below:

She has good cuttings which are hard to find so they sell out very fast. I suggest you place your order now.

I just order a few more items I wanted to graft. Her price is reasonable, cuttings are fresh and she knows what she is doing so you should be getting the correct variety listed.

She is selling a few yangmei cuttings, hard to find mulberry like Skinner, Taiwan Long, Himalayan Steve Murray.

I had some inquires in the new guava I found (new unknown) so I did try to see if I can get some cuttings from this tree. Check out the photo of the Betty guava.

So, I did some bartering and ended up providing tree trimming service and grafting 3 avocado trees so that I can get these cuttings.

I'll post more photos of the fruits later tonight.

For now, just want to let you know that I will take the first 10 advance order list for cuttings of Betty. I plan to give back the profit to the owner of this tree for letting me get the cuttings to graft onto my trees.

For Sale:
1. You must be a forum member for 6 months.
2. I have the right to refuse to sell to anyone, if I don't respond you know why.
3. Lower 48 states only.
4. Betty cuttings, $20 for two cuttings.
5. Length of cuttings approximately 8" long x 2, will show typical size later (1/4" at the base of cutting)
6. I will cut off most if not all the leaves to fit it in the box.
7. Cost to ship $11, USPS priority mail box.
8. Once you are on this advance order list, you pay when I'm ready to ship it to you.
9. Total Cost => $31
10. Payment with Paypal only (Friends & Family).

I will be going to the house next week and take the cuttings for this order so it should be fresh.

This is a one time sale only, the home owner doesn't want to cut any more of his tree.
He said this one tree fruits a lot, you will see the fruit cluster in my photos.

Skin is pale yellow with red blush/streaks. Flesh is white, pear shaped, texture like a pear in firmness, not crunchy. All the fruits gets medium size as shown in my photo.

I did a quick taste comparison with my Melon guava, purchased fruits of Pearl, Florida Pink, my Tropic white fruits and this Betty guava tastes the best to me. I have not tasted JF's red flesh guavas yet (Jalisco, Delores) nor my orange flesh guavas.

=> First 10 people to send me a PM, don't post here and expect me to put you on the list.

If anyone is interested in tasting the Pearl guava, I bought some from Weee and it was not bad. I also had the Crystal seedless fruit last year and they are about the same as far as flavor and taste that I can detect. Fruits are large, but the Crystal is seedless so it has that advantage. The Pearl guava is a large fruit so even if you remove the seeds (spoon out), there is a lot of flesh to eat.

I'll post some photos of it compared to a few of my other varieties I have now, the Melon guava and Tropci Pink guava fruits.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Lilikoi - Which Ones Do You Grow
« on: February 18, 2024, 07:01:40 PM »
I think I have all three types of the Lilikoi plants. Here's a good summary describing the three types.

If you are growing these passion fruits, can you comment on the taste and which one you like the best. I have not tasted any fruits except when I was in Hawaii many years ago and forgot what they taste like.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Tropic Pink Guava - anyone growing it?
« on: February 18, 2024, 05:12:10 PM »
Just wondering if anyone else is growing the Tropic Pink guava. I have a few trees from La Verne nursery and the fruit is not what I expected. I have 3-4 fruits (first fruits) on my tree and they fruit color is white/red blush and the inside flesh color is white.

I thought the Tropic Pink guava has red/pink flesh fruits. If you grow any of this variety and have pink colored flesh, can you post a photo of your fruit.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Need Help to ID This Cherimoya again
« on: February 06, 2024, 04:18:09 PM »
Ok, I will ask again if anyone can help me ID this cherimoya tree and fruit. This is my oldest tree, got a small plant from a worker 25 yrs ago. The tree is super vigorous, has the largest leaves of any annona I have growing. I only found one photo of the fruit from 15 yrs ago. This tree requires hand pollination and I don't pollinate it so not much if any fruits grow on this tree. I'm using it as a strong rootstock tree to graft other varieties.

Here's the only fruit photo I have, and some photos of the leaves and branches.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Need Help to ID This Atemoya- Closed - AP
« on: February 04, 2024, 11:00:46 PM »
I looked at some of the Gefner photos people posted and my fruit almost looks just like it.

I bought the Dr. White fruits from Brad and it looks different from the fruits I ate and grafted on my tree a few years ago.

Can you look at my fruit photos (got fruits from a friend) and let me know what variety it is. The person who has the trees does not know the name, just said it was an Atemoya with good size fruits which tastes good.

I found a person who has an older guava tree that has some nice fruits, ripe ones range from 2"-4" (240 grams). I ate a few smaller fruits earlier in December and it tasted very good. When it is ripe, the flesh is softer, not the crunchy variety. It has a good smell when ripe, and one of the better tasting guava fruits I have tasted.

I went by the tree again and checked the fruits, it has some larger fruits so I got one large fruit (1/2 lb) and these were redish colored skin, like an apple. The fruit was even better than the first fruit I tasted, this one is a winner. Since it is large, there is a lot more flesh to eat.

So, if anyone can identify this variety that would be nice, I plan to graft it on my trees.

Here's photos of the fruit and branch I'm grafting.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Anyone Have Ripe Avocados in December?
« on: December 17, 2023, 01:53:19 PM »
Is anyone getting ripe avocados on your trees in Nov-Dec-Jan?

Just curious to know which varieties have ripe fruits in these months. The only ones I grow or know of near me are the three unknown/seedling trees that I get my fruits yearly..

1. HB_Library - avocado variety that is grafted. The scion wood came from the "Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens" about 50 years ago, now the trees are all gone. This variety is unknown, I was told the gardener working there said it tasted very good and grafted it on this mother tree. Fruit is medium size, excellent tasting. Shape similar to a Fuerte or Bacon, but it is not either.
2. Hamada avocado- avocado variety that is grafted. This variety could be a sport/mutation or seedling tree that was grafted onto a nursery tree which is now over 75 years old. One of the largest avocado tree I know of (30-40 feet tall x 30 feet wide). The person who had the original tree said the fruits tasted better than any avocado being sold at the time in the markets, so it was grafted onto this nursery tree. Fruit is medium size, excellent tasting. Shape similar to a Fuerte or Bacon, but it is not either..
3. Derek avocado- unknown source or name. The tree is about 40 years old. Fruit is medium size, shape similar to above fruits.

Please let me know what variety you are growing that are fruiting now, and if you have a photo of the fruit, post below. Thanks.

Here's the Hamada avocado photo. These fruits have a long shelf life, you can pick the fruits and they will ripen in 4-7 days, but it will keep for up to 10 days and still look good inside.

Skin is thn, but you can peel it if you want to cut it up to look presentable.

Hi, now that I'm starting to get ripe fruits on my multi-grafted tree, I wondered which yellow sapote is the best tasting to everyone who has a tree.

Here's what I grow, if you know of other yellow sapote then please post the variety name or indicate if it's a seedling tree.

I have not tasted fruits of item 1,3, & 5 yet. So far, the best tasting to me is Younghan's Gold and Clytia.

Please post any photos you might have of your fruits. I will post the photos of the Clytia fruits I ate last week.
