Fruit eating ventures.
« on: July 10, 2024, 10:31:44 PM »
So I need help with my fruit eating ventures. I’m on TikTok and instagram making videos reviewing foods and fruits. @_therealdoe I’m looking for new fruits that I haven’t tried. Unfortunately I live in the northeast and can’t grow or know anyone growing anything. I have tried black sapote, white sapote, sapodilla, mamey, mangosteen, durian, jackfruit, ice cream beans,a few banana varieties, egg fruit, pink pineapple, sugarloaf pineapple, soursop, cherimoya, sugar apple, antemoya, star apple and much more. I’m looking for weird and strange looking fruits. Can you guys please help point me in the right direction for vendors. Please check me out on Instagram and TikTok

Nice! Seems like you've tried a lot.
I'd recommend taking a trip down to FL during peak fruit season around June-early July
Go hit up various farms and sellers + Fruit and Spice Park.
I just got back from a trip and had a lot of interesting stuff.
People on here sometimes sell and ship rare fruits, but the rarer the fruit the harder it is to ship as there is a lot of value in rare fruit seeds.
There's also people who import from overseas and sell a lot of cool stuff online like maprang, salak, langsat, baccurea, etc. But at that point it gets really costly.

I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on fruits from $50 a pineapple to $3 for beans. I have no interest in planting fruits as I live in the cold northeast. I have to look very hard for fruits and stumbled across this forum. I’ve even paid $100 for 1 monstera Deliciosa fruit smh. I want to see what’s out there for sale. Please let me know anyone who is interested in shipping fruits.

Traveling is the best way to try new fruits and Borneo is the best for fruit hunting imho. You can reach Sabah and Sarawak relatively easy, or be a bit more adventurous and check out Kalimantan.bottom line is You’re Not going to get  to try the best , rare stuff by staying in the NE and relying on people who ship

Costa Rica. We’re going to have a great season starting next month with durian and mangosteen topping the list.
