Kiwano 'Rund' Jelly Melon (Cucumis metuliferus) - Total of 10 individual seedlings. This variety is the "Round" version of the kiwano melon/jelly melon.
My grapes are coming back, so I no longer have room on my trellis, and these love to climb! Refreshing fruit for a hot summer day. Total cost for all plants + priority shipping is $25. Note that the vines and fruits will be spikey.

Sweet Maprang [aka Marian Plum or mango plum] (Bouea macrophylla)

Curious if anyone has experience with A. kemando in the U.S.

Was browsing Anderson Tropicals and saw seeds for sale; a little more reading and I found that they thrive in tropical lowland swamps. In the same sense that people suggest pond apple for wetlands/saturated soils for grafting Annonas, I wonder if this could be a good rootstock for similar soil conditions for grafting jackfruit or other artocarpus species.

Such little information online, interested in peoples thoughts and experiences.

Hey all,

Looking to trade or sell the following, preferably local (Southeast FL). I've been searching mainly for kadsura coccinea vines (or cuttings?) or seedless che plants. Thanks!

- TM Red Jackfruit in a 15-gal container - purchased last year and thought I'd keep it potted, but swapping it out with a smaller Artocarpus species. Healthy tree and grafted. Probably seen too much shade this year but likely has a nice deep taproot, perfect to get in the ground now.

Hi everyone,

Having trouble keeping my two Mama-cadela's (Brosimum gaudichaudii) happy. The plants are a little less than a year old and are constantly struggling. As pictured below, leaves are riddled with small brown dots. Do yall think this is an Anthracnose/fungal issue?
Ive treated them both for fungal issues countless times and the leaves always come back spotted brown. Rarely have I seen an insect near them. Both plants shed whatever few leaves they push out regularly, lateral growth is basically stagnant. Ive attempted using different mincronutrients, minor soil amendments, and light exposure, all ending with the same result.

With how little information there is on this species, I would appreciate any assistance. If yall have recommendations for a good fungicide that will do the trick once and for all, please let me know.

Hi everyone!

Got more plants and cuttings available, U.S. only. Prices listed below; plants will be shipped via USPS priority shipping.

Cuttings:
Prices listed below. Flat cost $10 for shipping cuttings via USPS Priority Mail, feel free to bundle.

Peach Cobbler Mango - 3 Cuttings ($12 total) - Trimmed back the P.C. Mango a bit, one of my favorite cultivars. The forum has dozens of pages of info on this cultivar, but feel free to ask questions.

Lemon Zest Mango - 4 Cuttings ($12 total) - Primarily young growth that I just trimmed off. Lemon Zest is by far my favorite mango cultivar. The forum has dozens of pages of info on this cultivar, but feel free to ask any questions.

Siam Jumbo Mulberry - 6 Cuttings ($10 total) - Very easy variety to root cuttings, especially in water. Makes a sturdy and fast-growing rootstock, the fruits themselves are fairly sweet once the plant is matured.

Machete Ice Cream Bean (Inga Spectabilis) - 4 Cuttings ($6 total) - This ice cream bean is a phenomenal grower, third time ive pruned this summer. Great nitrogen-fixer for the garden or poor soils, establishes shade quickly. Personally, I enjoy the ice cream beans that don't have a cinnamon flavor. Cuttings are pretty easy to root in soil, haven't tried water yet. Can be grafted as well.

Babaco Papaya aka Mountain Papaya (Vasconcellea spp. hybrid) - 4 Cuttings ($10 total) Sold.
This has been a fun papaya to grow, and my first rooted cutting is finally producing cuttings. Cut up my second plant that I didn't have space for. I had fair success rooting these cuttings in a perlite-loose soil-perlite mix. Might be able to root it in water.

Seedlings:   USPS Prioirty Shipping cost factored in to listings below

Australian Baobab (Adansonia gregorii) - One 1-gal Seedling ($22, includes shipping) - Fast-growing Baobab, the only one native to Australia. Species is dioecious.

Ice Cream Bean (Inga edulis) - ~12 seedlings ($2 each, 3 minimum. Shipping $10) - A fast-growing nitrogen fixer, great for naturally modifying poor soils and producing quick shade. Ideal for establishing new food forests. At the same time, produces sweet and cottony fruit within a few years.

Red Seashore Mangosteen (Garcinia hombroniana) - 2 Plants ($20 for both, includes shipping) - I find these to be slow and sensitive; can't give them the specific attention that some young Garcinia's need. $20 both plants, includes shipping, will be shipped semi-bare root.

Thanks for looking!
Dan

Hi all,

Looking to buy or trade for a couple cuttings of Flavor Delight Aprium, supposedly the best prunus hybrid of its kind to set fruit in S. Florida and root somewhat easily from cuttings.
Please let me know if you've got some to spare and what you may be looking for in return, thanks!

Good afternoon all,

I'm looking to purchase or trade for some cuttings from anyone with Suhosine Mulberry (Debregeasia edulis), preferably the self-fertile / "elite" variety floating around. Thanks!

Hey all,

Have a spare Siam Jumbo mulberry that I air-layered, just removed it to make space for a graft. Regardless of the debate going on about this cultivar, it is a phenomenal grower down here in South FL with a solid fruit.
Asking local pickup before I consider shipping, since it is fairly tall.
$10

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Lepisanthes alata - Any advice?
« on: July 18, 2023, 10:13:00 AM »
Not too much detailed information on this species, and i've got quite a few seedlings that have been lying around semi-neglected. Has anyone grown Lepisanthes alata and is it comparable to other lychee-like fruits in the Sapindaceae family? Any suggestions on keeping them potted?

And on that note, if anyone has been dying to get a few of these, hit me up! They're looking for a good home.

Hey all,

Ran past these 3-gal Garcinia spicata for only $20 at Flamingo Road Nursery in Davie; was curious if anyone has experience using these as rootstock for other garcinia species? Haven't found much info on grafting it, but it looks relatively thick for its size and i read that its salt tolerant too.

Hey everyone!

Ill be trying my luck grafting my favorite variety of black sapote this weekend, currently looking for a rootstock in a 3-gallon pot or above. Would be glad to pay and/or trade, I've got plenty to offer to make space for my tree. Pointers to any local nurseries with stock would be great too, thank you!

Hey everyone,

Looking to buy/trade for osage orange to use as rootstock, if anyone has spare. Looking for larger plants ~2-4 yrs old. Let me know what you're looking for in exchange, thanks!

Hi everyone,

looking to trade or sell my 7gal and 3gal rollinia deliciosa plants. Seedlings purchased last October from HapaJoe, just looking to clear some space in the yard and maybe get a yellow Jamaican cherry/strawberry tree.

PM if interested, thanks

Hey yall, I'm currently airlayering my yuzu, in the meantime I got a spare rooted cutting that I'm looking to trade. Prefer to meet around Ft Lauderdale but I can ship where legally allowed to.

Hey everyone!

Wanted to jump in on the trend of posting pictures with all this good weather we've been having. I was unfamiliar with Cecropia peltata until I stumbled upon one at the WPB Rare Fruit Council plant sale last year. Hope to find another at the same sale this weekend.

The pictures show the development of the "gummy worm" fruit. I have a strong belief that the fruits will be aborted since the plant is very young, but im hopeful to try one.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice on how to make my Cecropia as happy and strong as possible, limited useful information online. PS - I have ONLY a female tree. I am aware of the invasive potential when males are brought into the mix (plus they dont sell males).

Thanks!!

Hey all!

More pawpaw seedlings here than I need. Open to trade or sale, shoot me an offer; skip the year-long cold stratification!
Will send them out bareroot.
These have long tap roots and would be best in a deep pot or in the ground, will likely be ready to graft next year. Seeds came from an unnamed variety of a private grower on the East coast, delicious fat and juicy fruit.

I would prefer to do a local trade/sale (Southeast FL), as these are great host plants for zebra swallowtail butterflies and we need to develop a zone 9+ tolerant pawpaw (my current undertaking).

Let me know!

Hey all!

Haven't had the best luck starting papaya relatives from seed, hoping to acquire a decent-sized cutting from a Babaco Papaya, preferably a known hermaphrodite. Let me know if you've got it and what you may be looking for in exchange, thanks!

I am aware a seller has this specific item on etsy, but im not looking to drop $60 on a cutting just yet :) seems people on the forum have a lot to say about that seller as well....

Hey all,

Might be a long shot on this forum, but im looking to trade for a grown-ish (4-5+ years) Jelly Palm/Pindo Palm (Butia capitata) or Windmill Palm (Trachycarpus fortunei). My preference is the Jelly Palm!
Looking in the Southwest/South Florida area -- some available online, but the big ones are just too much to ship.

Would be glad to figure out a fair deal, maybe trade and some cash depending on the size. Thanks!

Hey all,

With Caimito coming into season now/soon, was hoping somebody in SE FL had a few to sell. Located in Ft. Lauderdale so nearby would be awesome.
Grateful for everyone offering on Etsy and Facebook but the prices are a bit high.

Thanks!

Hi all,

I've had some success with getting America pawpaw started in Zone 10, although it will be awhile until i can assess quality and production of fruit.

Regardless, I want to get started on a little project, and see if another temperate favorite of mine can adjust to the weather here, the European Hazlenut. I'm looking for small plants or any viable seeds, stratified or not, as to best expose them early on to the FL environment. The following varieties would be preferential as well: Red Dragon, Theta, Polly O, Jefferson, Grand Traverse.

thanks!
