Growing star anise

Who here grows star anise? I love the versatility it provides as a spice.
Would love to see some examples lol.
Not much talk about this one. Or even spices in general.

I’m growing it here in SEFL, but it nearly died from root rot. It likes wet feet - hard to balance that here without rotting.

Hi WizardsTree, Is there any way I can come pick up a cutting, or some fresh, viable seeds from you?  I have been looking FOREVER for a plant or a seedling!!  I'm in SW Florida, and would drive to get it!!  Please let me know if you have some, or else anyone else might have some anywhere in Florida?? Thank you!
