The serrana jaboticaba is typical of Misiones, with elongated leaves, large and very juicy sweet fruits, exceptional flavor, great for juices, ice creams, jams, and for eating fresh. These trees start to bear fruit between 7 and 12 years of age in their original climate, producing 2 or 3 times per year. They are trees that tend to grow taller than sabará and other types of jaboticabas, and they are easier to cultivate.
