What variety is the starfruit tree you have?

Hello,

I am looking to source seeds from different starfruit varieties, particularly those of Giant Siam, Kari and Fwang Tung. I am aware that the seeds probably won't grow entirely true to type.

Thanks all.

Hi,

I will be re-potting my starfruit plant into a large container. What potting medium is best for starfruit?

Thanks.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Starfruit issue
« on: November 26, 2019, 02:12:20 AM »
Hello all,

These white specks have begun to appear on the leaves of my young starfruit plant. This started approximately 1 week ago and it doesn't appear problematic for the plant, yet. Does anyone here have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Thanks. Off-topic, but do you grow the starfruit outside in Zone 8?

Very difficult :/

Hi, do you have any seeds that have not germinated yet (my country will not allow pre-germinated seeds)?

Cheers.

What kind of fertilizer and hiw much are you adding? It could be excess of nitrogen too.

An organic seaweed plant tonic, which has been rarely applied. Thanks.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Is my Longan okay?
« on: October 05, 2019, 10:36:31 PM »
Hello, everyone,

My Longan here isn't looking so great. I am from Auckland, New Zealand, which is approximately USDA zone 9b. We entered spring in September. During the winter from June - August, the plant was subjected to average lows of 11C, with extreme lows at around 4C. It has been protected under the eaves of the house since May, and during winter it received approximately 3-4 hours of direct sunlight. I watered it very infrequently during the winter (deep water once every 2-3 weeks) months. However, since late August it began showing signs of brown-tipping on the leaves. I am wondering, what issue might be causing this? I haven't fertilized at all, and I have watered it with rainwater with a few waterings of a natural seaweed mixture added in. Its watering has been controlled, with no natural precipitation affecting the plant. Cheers

Will it also do okay in subtropical climates?

Hi, does anyone have any Carica Parviflora, Carica Stipulata and/or Carica Monoica seeds available?

I am interested in purchasing some seeds :)

Thanks.
