yes seems very rare, I haven't seen one before and I can't find any photos online. I messaged the CRFG admins as well and they said they are asking persimmon experts to see if they have seen it before.
Sad thing is it seems there is no way to preserve this trait. In the extremely unlikely chance there was a stable mutation on the branches tissue itself I'll try grafting if next season also gives a 6 pedal flower. It would be so cool to have a full tree of 6 pedal fruit.
Last year I only got 5 ripe fruit out of hundreds from the tree because the squirrels stole almost all the unripe green ones, I'll bag this special fruit and hope for the best that I can provide a ripen fruit photo and a cross section.
