Ive searched around and I cant really find a good answer to this question, ive heard that yangmei on itself and californica is prone to spontaneous dying, while cerifera is stable? is pennsylvanica a good choice? do any of them have side effects like dwarfing, vigor, or other benefits/negative effects?
Any clarification and additional information would be very helpful

My white sapote has developed black spots and is rapidly losing leaves, does anyone know what it is and what to do?

A frequent question that arises when scions are offered is, "Is it rootable?" I thought I'd make a thread to discuss rootability and strategies for different sp. So please share your successes and failures! Do certain genera or families do better than others typically? what mediums have you found success with?

i want to grow both bananas and papayas, but with bananas specifically they cant be pruned, and i dont have high ceilings. i know there are small cavendish vars, but frankly, i can get that at the store...
i know both of these have short plant-to-fruit times and i was wondering if it is possible to time getting a small plant in late summer, then keeping it indoors until it gets too big (ideally right when it heats up outside) and then moving it outside, harvesting the fruits, chopping it, then repeat? it would be a lot of work to time it but it could be fun/ an interesting opportunity, has this been attempted before?

I dont have access to normal rootstock seeds or small plants and im wondering if the run of the mill kent and champagne mangos will get the job done

Im really trying to go to brazil this december, and i want to bring back a bunch of seeds. but i know that theres some whole proccess involved with that, ive looked online but there isnt really anything helpful, does anyone have good advice?

also i bet this has been a topic before, i tried looking but couldnt find it so if this has been answered then thats also sufficient

Hi everyone, my white sapote was doing great and all of a sudden its health really started declining, whats wrong ??

They seem to be a promising specie, ornamental and cool with a supposedly good flavor, can anyone back this up?

my family is taking a vacation to palm springs this summer if anyone knows of any fruit spots out there, I don't think we will doing much driving around so we might not be able to make it far out of the town or to san diego.

My citrus suddenly started losing leaves and its not looking good

I have reached a point where I cant really find anything new in my local asian markets and when I do they are always rock hard and subpar. i don't really have the funds to splurge on some fresh fruit from Florida or Cali but I realized that I have my own abundance, of berries! if anyone would be interested in trading some rare fruit for some rare berries I would love that! the berry season is still pretty far away but I wanted to see if there was any market for these. The berries I might be able to source include: various species of huckleberries, blueberries, vacciniums, salmonberry and other rubus sp., thimbleberry, arbutus, bunchberry, oso berry, elderberry, and possibly even the elusive cloudberry!

hi everyone! i will be going to costa rica sometime this summer and I could use some advice. my plan at the moment is to stay a couple of nights in puerto viejo and a couple in san ramon(or a similar area) to try to go to the Plinia Costaricensis. does anyone have any recommendations for lodging? i would prefer somewhere that maybe has fruit trees on the property, our budget is around 20ish $ a night. i am also looking for farms and collections to visit to try and taste as many fruits as possible. we are also looking for a guide to go on hikes in the jungle to look for fruits

I have two plants that are a little worse for the wear, and i dont know what to do about it.

My Eugenia burkartiana has been doing poorly, i got it on auction from anderson tropicals, it came in good shape. The leaves started browning and falling off, i thought it was sunburn so i moved it a little bit away. But the leaves are still shriveling, what do i do??

Next is my fruta do misterio, i got it and it looked good for about a week then the leaves lost color and THEN shrivled, but didnt always fall. There were black spots before the shriviling so i hit it with fungicide. By that point there were only 2 green leaves left, the spots were gone but there was no growth. I noticed today that the spots are back and when i touched them, the last leaves fell

Please help! I paid a pretty penny for these and they are some of my oldest plants and i dont want to lose them
