Annona diocia have not tried fruit, but the mature tree I have is a small dwarf bush of like 3ft tall.

Surinam cherries, get some good selections.

Wax jambu will fruit in a container and can keep in a 20 gal size.

Longan can fruit and keep in a 20 gal or so.
Grow mainly fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

Eugenia pitanga (similar flavor to the best varieties of eugenia uniflora, but the fruits have firmer pulp, very pleasant) , Campomanesia xanthocarpa var. litorallis (small but tasty fruits).

Get a Barbados cherry tree, it can be kept in pot, small fruits, tastes ok, highest vitamin C content superfood.

I agree on the Barbados cherry.  But the taste great improves if you can get the fruit to turn black.  It will get sweet and kind of reminds me of a pleasant raspberry taste.  To do that, though, you will have to net it.  I get zero fruit from mine because the birds eat them when red.

Not sure what extreme dwarf means but some thoughts.

Perhaps not a tropical fruit, per se, but finger limes (limon caviar in Spanish) can be kept compact and in <10 gal containers. I had one when I lived in SoCal that fruited well in a 7 gal container as long as I irrigated it well and fed it appropriately.

Also, pineapples can be kept in containers and will fruit if they are happy. Doesn't need to be a big plant to do so, but the fruit might be smaller (but no less delicious- in fact the best pineapples I've had came from pots in the yard).

What about the Physalis genus?  If I'm remembering correctly, they're all perennial in a tropical climate (and most work as annuals in a temperate climate).  They're not very big, and make delicious fruit.

There are some Psidium species that are low creepers like P. salutare var mucronatum and some found in the Cerrado like P. Australe var suffruticosum, many Myrciaria species found in the Cerrado are very small plants.

These aren’t extremely dwarf but certainly dwarf such as Eugenia sellowiana, E.  calycina, E. punicifolia, E. pitanga, several Campomanesia Cerrado species like C. adamantium and C. pubescens, and a few Myrcia Cerrado.

The Eugenia sellowiana has good size fruits on a small plant. The branches bend with the load. I’m looking forward to tasting the fruit of this species.

I was “advertising” borojo in another post but didn’t mention it’s a protein rich fruit, everyone is watching their protein intake now so great in that sense, plus great amount of flesh per fruit, doesn’t have to be peeled. Texture is like peanut butter.
The plant is not ultra dwarf but is about human height, can be kept as a bush or a tree and fruits both in sun and shade. Perfect for greenhouses or tropical climates. I was rewatching my footage with this tree and thought it is a great plant to have.

Satya, did you hear about the guy in Africa who gave all and set up a borojo farm?
Idk how he’s doing now lol.
It’s a very pretty tree.
I’ve not seen it much in the states. Do you have one here?

No, haven’t heard about this guy, would be interesting to see how he is doing.
I don’t have a tree in Florida - only in CR. I’m surprised it’s considered rare, the tree fruits prolifically and each fruit has lots of seeds.

I'm not sure...it was on an old thread from like 2012. But I think he way overestimated the protein content which led him to invest in 1000s of plants.
Still, it's a cool plant. I saw one with fruit in CR, but didn't know to pick it or not cause I couldn't tell if it was ripe or not.
I'll check with my friends in FL.

The fruit becomes soft and drops. That’s how you know it’s ripe  :o :o  i will ask my wife to edit the video, it’s pretty interesting. Will share the link.
probably it was over advertised as a protein powerhouse and when data came it was disappointing? Not a bad fruit for commercial growing if you can process fruit on site into a juice or pulp. As far as i remember, the pulp lasted in my fridge for more than half a year before molding. It smells a bit like noni before processing (pulp does not) so probably has lots of antimicrobial properties.

Jackfruit, mulberry, ambarella.
Which mulberry variety? I bought one that said dwarf on the tag yet it grew over 8 ft in over a year 😭
