Affordable Bulk Potting Soil
« on: September 26, 2024, 04:06:38 PM »
What does everyone here do for potting soil?  I've mixed my own for a while from peat moss, compost, perlite, etc., but even this is starting to become pretty pricey.  I would like to find a more overall affordable alternative, possibly a buying in bulk?  I'm interested to see what others use or what better ways y'all have found to do potting soil.

This place sells bulk soil by the yard and some of the local nurseries use it:

If PSL is too far from you maybe check with your local nurseries or landscapers to see where they get their bulk material.

Call a few places that deliver things like bulk topsoil or mulch/bark/gravel, and ask if they have any potting mix or if they can custom mix one for you. The local place here will do custom orders as long as it's like 2 to 5 yards total, and they have a house potting mix for any size order.
