East USA flora related to China flora
« on: June 21, 2020, 01:58:35 PM »
Since long time i wanted to post this.
I find it amazing that east USA flora and even somme of the fauna( ex: american paddlefish- chinese paddlefish) are soo distant iet related like twins.
Magnolia,Asimina Triloba( annonaceae),the tulip tree ,hickory trees, walnuts ,ginseng and manny otthers are found in east USA and also China.

Very interesting.

Another example that we in this group are aware of, is the Diospyros genus:  persimmon and kaki and several others.

Yea ,well spotted.
Another fruit tree example is the chinese Che tree and osage orange.
Osage orange its not edible altough a nice looking fruit ,but its used as a rootstock for the che.
