I'm moving somewhere cold soon. I am looking for suggestions of things that are easy to take care of in pots and fruit quickly (so no jaboticaba, even though they do well in pots). I've heard sugar apple is good, any other suggestions?
I'm trying to find new plant related things to do in SB and the surrounding areas (main focus is tropical fruit but also like general plant stuff). Have already done: Lotusland SB Botanical Garden SB Orchid Estate Mission Rose Garden Franchesci Park Orpet Park Alice Keck Courthouse / Sunken Gardens Taft Gardens Lake Carneros
Does anyone know if there is anything like CRFG in Minnesota or know of any good gardening / farming groups? I might end up having to move there in the next few years and would like to continue my hobby. This would be for growing outside, not space station / heated greenhouse tropicals.
My Vernon fruit are still hard but haven't seemed to get any bigger than the baseball size they are currently at. If I pick now will they ripen completely ? Or do I need to wait until a certain state on the tree
Finally tried one, it was OK - sweet banana with a hint of cherimoya, and zero acidity. I found myself wishing I was eating a cherimoya instead or something with better acid balance - does it go well with lime juice? Some other preparation? Are there cultivars with acidity?
