Just be careful when you purchase a Barbados cherry online. I purchased 2 online and they never bear fruit, even after 5 years in the ground. Most likely grown from seed. The leaves are causing bad rash on touch too. Then I purchased one from Papaya Tree nursery, bear fruit the 1st year, and the leaves never cause itchiness like the other. All trees look very similar, same leaves, same flower, but the ones i got online never hold any fruit.

Just browsing around for a passiflora, and found this website offers a Barbados cherry. It says grow from cutting, not seed. I never buy from them though.

There should be plenty of local nurseries that carry it. Make sure you get a "sweet" cultivar, the most common of which is Manoa Sweet. Don't get a random seedling or unknown cutting. I'm just familiar with San Diego but Ong Nursery has it, tropicalfruittrees.com (in Vista) had lots of them, as well as a mature one in-ground, Kartuz used to have it (that's where my now-productive tree came from), etc. So ask around and make sure it's a cultivar like Manoa Sweet (or taste a fruit if possible).
