If you did not find the boxes to ship the plant, here's the box I use when it is a larger plant. It looks like your 3 gallon plant can be made to fit into this one.

It is from Uline, good box, there is a minimum order of 25 boxes, so with tax & shipping it is $83( $3.32 each).
