Last year I successfully fruited my store bought pineapple start (3rd year). I kept the largest shoot on the plant/roots as it died back and started some 8 new plants from all the shoots that the plant produced. I gave some of them away, killed two (not on purpose), and still have three new plants to repot this spring. The original plant shoot has a new pineapple growing and several new shoots. I should note that I live in Virginia Zone 7a so I have to winter them over indoors. Now I am no mathematician but I think I know where this is heading. I can’t seem to give these plants away and I really would rather not toss them as they are so easy to start. What a dilemma! Any ideas?
