New seeds : unidentified sapotaceae, Helicostylis pendunculata and Pourouma bicolor.
Any description of the sapotaceae taste?
-
I would say that the texture is similar to Canistel.
The taste is more difficult to describe, between green apple and pineapple, plus a flavor that I can not describe, incomparable.

New seeds : Talisia sp.

Richard,
I would love to hear your experience/opinion on germinating Platonia insignis seeds ?. People say it's hard to germinate .
Hi Moh'd,
I found the Bacuri seeds bulletproof. The key is to get fresh seeds. A fresh seed have a green or yellow kernel when you slightly sratch the brown rind. If not, the seed is died.
Fresh seeds have almost 100% germination rate. The seed have to be half burried in a deep pot filled with moist but well draining soil. Keep the pot in a very shady place with constant humidity. Usually seeds start to sprout in 1 to 12 months, but it can take up to 2 years ! After several months, you can check the germination by trying to move the seed, as the first sprouting sign is only a big taproot.
-
To share with everyone...
I did what Richard mentioned since last April. The first germination started after three months and the 2nd germination took 12 months! All the other seeds are still "sleeping" now...

Hi Richard. Do You have for sale whole (unopened) cupui pods?
Hi Domnik,
For now, there are very few fruits available, not a good season this year, so no whole pods for the moment.
