birth of a new anonna variety. Started from seeds a few years ago. Tree is still small, produce only 1 fruit this year size of my small fist. I gave it to my mom and she said the best she ever had. Lots of flavor and chewy. I am going to graft it onto other trees.

I'm not sure if it was from JF's seeds or I bought it from ebay sales that was advertised as this:

That’s a good looking fruit. How was the texture and flavor?
-
Tommyng,
I have about 10+ seedlings that are bearing fruits. Mom said that is the best tasting fruit out of the entire batch. Very chewy, sweet, acidic, and flavorful, not that many seeds. Fruiting first time this year, There is just one fruit and gave it to mom.

Great fruit.
How old is your tree?
-
I have been told the fruits get better as the tree matures. If the first fruiting is great, the later batches over the years may be exceptional. Do keep us posted. We may be hitting you up for scions soom :)
-
that is good to hear. Mom said it is the best anonna she has eaten.
Tree is still small now and I'm going to graft it other seedlings. It it is about 4yrs old from seed. I think next year, I will be able to trade with folks.
In our dialect, ni-na (long i) is sugar apple.
I will name it after myself which is also in line with our dialect : ky-na.
-
You know what moms are like, completely objective :)
It may be the best she ever had because you grew it :))
That said, keep sharing report of your Ky-na sugar apple. If it turns out to be a good to great variety I will in touch to add it to my collection.

Interesting shape! I will swear is a Biriba but for what you said obviously isn't 😀

Great looking fruit! It’s obvious a seedling of the seeds of Birula I sold you.

Thanks JF for confirming. It's about 4yrs. I am starting to enjoy the fruit of my had labor and thanks to your seeds. It definetly does not look like those fruits that lady's hand.
I don't know if the Yucatan annona seeds I got from you are germinating. Haven't really seen it it.
JF, your comment state birula is the best out of all of them. Mom said it is the best anonna she has eaten, better than the one she had in Asia.

Raulglezruiz,

Birula is a favorite of a lot of folks in the forum. It’s great you get to name your new variety. All Yucatán seeds have germinated for me , some after months, in fact, I might have some Yucatán seedlings for sale this summer for pick up only.
