So $20 bucks for just ONE seed? And $30 bucks for just ONE fruit? Or $30 for a whole box? If its just for one fruit/seed, do they have some kind of superpower?
-
While it's a high price, there is really nowhere else one can get Green Sapote seeds. Also, due to the fact that it is from a fruiting tree in California it is likely that the seedlings will be physiologically more cold tolerant. Maybe super power Green Sapotes? Would love to trial some but I have too many Guatemala greens at the moment, haha.
How was the fruit? Totally rad seeing someone fruit it in California.

Thanks for droppin da knowledge Nate Dogg! I had no idea they were so hard to source. I did get some seeds from Raul however, and they weren’t $20/piece...
-
I feel the price is true to market as I have just seen a reliable seller on eBay move several of his seedlings for $100-150
Also I believe Miami fruits is the only person who offers fresh green Sapote and they have a preorder (waitlist longer than a year) for the price of $37 each fruit not including shipping or tax
Green Sapote is definitely a cash cow, we have 2 big trees!
Cheers!
I am selling the seeds for $25 off my Instagram and they are moving fast I just wanted to offer a rare specimen to those who know the value of a SoCal grown green Sapote
-
I know several local CRFG members that have collected free seeds from the tree at Quail Gardens in Carlsbad
-
Nice!
Is the tree Grafted?
Thx
-
I’ve gotten green sapote for free at fruit and spice park, I just ask front desk. It tastes identical to mamey to me
-
Dang I would really like to buy some seeds only but was wondering if I buy more than 1 you can do like a special price?
But that's super cool I have 3 small trees rn now and like 30 Mamey Sapotes from different parts of Latin America still waiting to fruit hopefully someday here in San Diego maybe one will carry the right variants
-
Package delivered in great shape everything super well packaged! Fast delivery!
And tasty too!
-
I have never eaten a green sapote, how is the taste ?
Is there a similar fruit taste as the green sapote ? I like the taste of mamey sapote.

I just received the fruit from SEEDTALKOC and can say it tastes exactly like mamey. No differences that I could detect. Maybe less stringy texture, but I would need to try more to say for certain.

only 1 of them seems viable which is the moldy one, the other 4 smell fermented, stem are brown and the seeds are grey doubt these will germinate and look dead. Waited 3 weeks for these seeds to be sent and still has the audacity to tell me the seeds are "100% alive" when they are grey and falling apart
-
Does not look good to me either, hope you get replacement or refund.

Sorry to hear that, especially since you're in SD County. His shipments are hit/miss on the FB fruit group fruit 4 sale. I hear there is green sapote at the quail gardens botanic garden in Encinitas. Maybe you can get seeds there and perhaps a fruit?
-
I tasted the fruit there a couple weeks ago-
the tree was loaded with fruit and the lucuma tree next to it had some nice fruit as well,
-
Do you have any green sapote left?
