Tis the season to graft in Vegas before it gets cold in a month. Have some rootstock shoots on two of my loquat trees that I’d like to graft onto.

Already have Lucy, Wedgwood, and Christmas. I dig ones that are larger sized and/or have good sweet/tart balance, but open to others.

Anyone have any info on Finger Lime 13335.01.03? There’s no info from Madison and I can’t find any elsewhere.

Only 113 grafts on a single tree?

Laying a big tarp on the ground is a good idea too.

I figured I'd give the air layering a go as an experiment, and I'm letting the new WBM shoots grow so I can root them and use them for grafting later. A friend of mine is now hopelessly addicted to the Aus Green berries and really wants one for his yard, so he'll be getting one depending on which of those two propagation methods works fastest.

BTW, the two Red Himalayan grafts I have are doing well and growing decently quickly, but no fruit yet.

I also have Lavender (I think I also got this from you?) and it's grown a ton with two nice, big branches, but no fruit yet either.

The Sangue e Latte grafts are still quite small since they barely grew last year, but are already putting out some fruit. It could be their immature state, but the fruit seem to take a really long time to develop and ripen.

For those looking to purchase, the Australian Green is a freaking rock star.

I grafted those with three of Kaz's cuttings two years ago on my WBM, and they're absolutely massive now. They also produce tasty fruit like it's going out of style. It put out one flush last year, and two concurrent ones this year. My yard is absolutely covered with berries. Added bonus, they don't stain.

I'm attempting to air layer some that would otherwise get pruned off now that their flushes are over.

My understanding is that Sumo is more seeded when it cross pollinates with other citrus trees. If it's self pollinated, it'll be seedless or almost seed free.

Are there any of these that have any decent tolerance to salts, clay, and alkaline conditions? Miriam looks to be a candidate?

If you end up getting some of those, let me know. I'd be keen to test them here.

You selling any Loquat seeds this year?

Flat broke until Wednesday of next week, but I'm definitely keen to get some if they're still available then.

Getting some fruit on my Lisa graft btw, excited to see how it does. One of the Wegdwoods also successfully took and is growing well.

Just because there's so many listed, which of these would be considered top tier "must haves" in your opinion?

Any additional rootstocks that are geared towards growing in the desert and higher pH clay soil?

Finally some kind of justice happening here.

Wedgwood, Peluche, Vista White, Estee, and Lisa would be my main one, along with any other known high quality varieties on a decently mature tree.

I have three of those successfully grafted, but they're on babies and it's going to be a while before they produce.
