I have seen it on passion fruit too, 4 sided fruit.

I have not noticed more than three petals on atemoya flowers but for what it’s worth, I’ve seen several 4-6 petal flowers on cherimoyas, specifically on my fino de jete tree.

Actually, that's right, certain cultivars like big sister do routinely produce flowers with 4-6 petals.
