Hey everyone. Got some cool passionfruit seeds up at graftatree.com
These 10 types of passiflora seeds we are offering come from an established passiflora collector in Indonesia. These varieties are grown and selected at his farm. Many of these have different tastes, and we are excited to offer these. Each selection is different in its own way and many have not been introduced into the US yet. We are thankful to be offering these, and like always if you are not satisfied with your order, we will make things right. I hope to add some more information in the coming days.
Best,
Ryan

Nice work! Does he have any flavor descriptions?

How many seeds is it for each unit purchased?

Thanks

Also interested, Ryan.  Plus were these all cultivars of P. edulis or are they different species –and/or did the fellow in Indonesia say if any of these were open polinated, i.e., hybrids?

Cheers!

Thanks for the interest! Price is per seed. (1). I'm still waiting on him to respond for flavor descriptions. Wanted to get these out asap, but if you purchased, I will update this thread anyways. He said he will give me more information later though on each variety and taste.
I'm assuming most are edulis or edulis hybrids.

It has been brought to my attention that the website may have problems with checkout and adding things to the cart. I tried some stuff, but not sure if it's fixed or not. If something happens, please let me know, and also we are refunding people for double shipping charges that occur if you can't add the desired products to checkout.

Seller wrote up a post where he described the Panama red passion fruit
He said it tasted slightly sour with brix levels at 20. Very solid.

I’d love to find one that is less vigorous but still fruits well, lol, my possum purple covered 40x15’ area in about a year.

Maybe I just need to grow them on something more easily contained like a proper structure is all though.

It looks like he pasted the same “21 brix” description to every single variety he has for sale, so we may want to hold off until he corrects that and updates each variety’s description for accuracy.

I had panama red growing down here for a while. It use to be common in the nursery trade but I haven't checked in a few years.
It's my favorite passion fruit, with 2 crops a year, one in winter and one in summer. Self-pollinating, high production, and pretty sweet.
I never measured the brix but it is sweeter than things like starfruit or dragon fruit for sure.
I wouldn't be surprised if it could reach up to 21.

I would highly recommend this variety if you want a passion fruit.
Can't speak for the rest of them though.

Also, thank you everyone for your patience. The seller has responded with some more info about each variety.
I will update them tonight on the website, but for now I'll just type it here quickly.
Ok so here's what he said
for sweet passionfruit without any hints of sour at all even when picked 70% ripe would be honey passionfruit or passionfruit hybrid.
For passionfruit with sweet/sour mix but sweet more dominant would be red flamingo
Sweet granadilla(p. lingularis) is sweet taste with lots of water so it's very refreshing.
Large size passionfuit (average 200 grams) with thick skin and sweet/sour blend is the turkey one or the red panama (Thanks skhan for the backup on this)
Purple passionfruit for lots of water.
Bianco passionfruit is a extremely sweet. He said it is too sweet it has a slightly bitter taste?
Thanks
