Cocktail and Starburst seedlings from seeds
« on: August 09, 2025, 08:30:10 PM »

Second year seedlings of Starburst and Cocktail taken from fruit. Both cultivars produce excellent juicy fruits. These trees need Winter protection in my area.

How do you protect the plants during winter?

The plants were protected in a solar greenhouse. They're merely a curiosity and only a select few will be kept going forward, perhaps after allowing the most cold sensitive plants to succumb in the late Fall.

They look like they are in ground.  Do you put up the greenhouse in fall and remove it in spring?

They were in a community pot during the winter to save space. In April/May they were planted outside.
