When to harvest gold nuggets
« on: April 03, 2017, 12:04:51 PM »
I have a gold nugget that flowers in February but the fruit is much better tasting in April and holds until June. Is it bad to keep fruits on the tree while it's flowering?

Wow. My satsumas are just now breaking dormancy and putting out a few flower buds. So your trees flowered in February, have ripe fruit now, and blooming again?

Oh wait. You're saying your fruit from last year hung on for over a year. I've only heard of mandarin getting less sweet and puffy after hanging on tree too long.

Branches that still have fruit remaining from the last crop generally reduce the amount of new fruit on those branches.
