Grafted Mango tree Growth
« on: December 21, 2021, 04:41:48 PM »
Hi Guys.. Newbie here so i'm not sure if i should be concerned.. I got a grafted east Indian about two month ago, put it in the ground maybe a week later.. I live in south Florida (Palm beach county)..

Two question..

Should i be noticing any growth at this point? doesn't seem to be doing anything, the leaves on top have gone from an yellow-ish to fulll green..

I also see some black spots of some of the leaves and have been using a mixture of neem oid and a drop of detergent for the past two weeks. I also put down fertilizer twice so far..

Please let me know if i'm being overly concerned or if there's anything i can provide to get feedback  (really don't wanna to anything to hurt the tree).

Thanks in advance..

A newly planted mango will spend it's energy esablishing it's roots
before it pushes new growth. What fertilizer and how much are you applying?
It's the winter ( sort of ) and I quit fertizing the end of October. I am in 9b
and if we get any cold weather any new growth will burn any way.
Be Patient

The nam doc mai mango tree I planted last year from a 7 gal took almost a whole year to put out some new growth. I thought something was wrong with it but it really doubled in size and the leaves are just now hardening off. Just be patient and it will be fine.

Thank you guys.. just wanted to make sure i'm not overreacting.. Fertilizer (Florikan CRF) i got was recommended by the nursery, used maybe a cup sprinkled around the base of the plant which is about 3 ft diameter and covered in mulch

It is doing what it should.
Don't hurry and don't overdo the fertilizer.
Be patient, it will grow new shoots when it is good and ready.
