I have a seedling tree that's maybe 25yrs old I don't eat fruit much has to be almost rotting before you eat it other wise super astringent!! I mean it will suck the spit out of your month astringent!! Also have seedling from Ed Self from Texas was supposed to be bigger fruit but has grown slow and is still small under 2" tall.

I also have a seedling from Ed and it's been producing very small size fruits for three years  that eventually fall off the tree and rot. I'm not sure what the deal is. Does it need another tree for polination? Or is it just what it is, small non edible fruit?

Their growth os measured on the geological time scale. I am in their native environment, have males and females and no fruit yet after about 15 years. Don't get in a hurry.... D

The seed I got from Ed was supposed to be 1" size fruit but have planted in bad spot will need to try and remove and but in better spot! My other older tree has maybe 1/2" max size fruit.
