I ordered 1 last year. I know Alex got a lot of requests for that variety last year so I've been patient.

4
Finally see 1 import popping up, so no problem with the extra cold stratification. Will post a pic later.

5
Ahh man. You think the imports will still be viable? Yeah ill let you know when the new stuff comes up.

6
Nada for me so far with the imports. But I did cold stratify for 2 months before I planted, so we'll see how that goes. I also got some from that newer batch from Ryan's site. Those went straight into a pot and about 3 weeks in. Patiently waiting.

Hopefully some day in the future all of these different fruits will be much more accessible to the public. I know most of everyone on this site is on that mission already. I know I am. Definitely want some of these!

Seeds came in quickly and look great. Thanks for the extras and thank you for what you do Joe!

Im tempted.. does anyone know of any wani mango fruiting in zones 9b/10a?
Want to try to split an order? Lowers the risk, but still high reward.

Yeah I would've been down to do that, but looks like shipping is no longer available.

Definitely didnt want to jump in here as I'm pretty new compared to all of you, but I just have to ask... who is the "Sellami" referenced here?

15
Can these be bred with Mangifera Indica?

16
I received mine as well. All germinated and healthy potted them up today. Thank you!

Just picked some stuff up. Joe always has the goods!

Citrus General Discussion / Re: Noble Juicy Crunch Tangerine
« on: January 19, 2023, 05:55:09 AM »
I'll add my 2 cents to the discussion. Btw not sure I've tasted this variety or not, but it looks good.

The issue isn't just the chemical farming, it's also that they've been growing in these grove/orchard style monoculture row crop methods for far too long with the same genetics being grown. This creates super pest and pathogens able to withstand all of the pesticides, insecticides, germicides, fertilizers etc and these leach into our water tables and we all know what that brings..

The major problem here is that we used the same grafted varieties over and over and expected it to get better.

Maybe there should be some kind of benefit given by the states to farmers whom attempt growing from seed and/or polyculture. This benefits the entire industry. But that probably isn't going to happen. Not in our lifetime at least.

Both of my orders came in with fresh seeds and greatly packaged. Thanks again!

Seeds were extremely fresh when I got them! Would buy again for sure. Hopefully they pop up soon!

23
Seeds look real fresh. I think I'll just place them in the fridge for 1-2 months and then plant them in big pots. I heard they don't like to be transplanted.

24
Got mine! Thanks again Ryan! Good luck everyone on germination. I personally never tried to germinate these. I'll go with the cold stratification method and see what I get.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / PV Fruiting Season
« on: November 13, 2022, 12:24:14 PM »
Good day everyone,

Just curious if anyone here has any information on the fruit season in Puerto Vallarta Mex. Particularly November-December months. I plan on visiting and it would be cool to know what fruit to look for. Thank you!
