Freezing Winter temps prevent mine from successfully fruiting in the ground... but they seem to do OK in containers. Greenhouse. Full Sun. Daily watering with municipal water. Frequent feeding:

10 ft side walls... way to go!

Kevin

Full disclosure.... I've not tried a wide selection Guavas other than what I have found from time to time at my local grocery store.
The Barbie Pinks are large, juicy, sweet and delicious.
Worth growing!
I'm also growing some of Kaz's "Sylvia", so maybe next year I can give you some feedback on them.

I'll resume shipping cuttings Monday... Thank You!

I guess I'll have to come up with a catchier name than 5-of-6:

Hey Lance... Thanks for the uncensored and hilarious reaction/evaluation of your first Topaz fruit:

Makes me laugh every time I see it!
Let's see if we can get the rest of you to publish your reactions as they filter in.

Great feedback...  I'm guessing your fruits are about the size of these:

Also... If I wasn't already calling them Topaz I would consider your description -  "Peach Bomb".

Thanks for the kind words and feedback Kaz...

I have 3 Mother plants grown from seed I received from Miguel PT.
I would not rate them as candy sweet.... but when picked at the right time they are nice.
Sweet-tart with tropical fruit overtones.

Yes... luck... I was just trying to expand my Pitomba collection by 6 plants and I guess a little alien pollen got mixed-in. And the fruit of 5-of-6 is much bigger than both parents.

Final Weekend for this BOGO deal...

Question:
"How do they taste? They look delicious."

Answer:
I found it on the ground that same afternoon and ate it. It was nice.
Most of the flavor was Pitomba... with enough Pitangatuba to give it a flavor boost.
I guess I'll keep this one!

Kevin

This one (5 of 6) is still flowering and setting fruit.
Here's one I noticed today:

Of all six individual plants I am growing this one consistantly has the largest fruit.

Minimal... I just ate one and it was sweet and delicious.
These blow a standard battery-acid flavored Pitangatuba out of the water!
