Hello Stuart, I am from Kerala India. I have a small collection of fruit trees, many of them yet to fruit. I am interested to get the seeds of Marula, Kei apple, Telfairia and other African fruits. I would be very much obliged if you could help in any way. Chandramohan.

Hello Luc, Do you have some Luc's Garcinia seeds to sell? Or could  you please tell me to whom in India you sold the 300 seeds, so that I can try to get some seedlings. Thanks, Chandramohan.

This in not a rare sight in many parts of India! The mound of mangoes in the foreground is 'benishan' and the one on which he is resting is what is known as 'Bangalora' or 'Totapuri'. The other two I cannot make out. Chandramohan.

My cousin has been using Pot.nitrate as spray and sprinkling around the drip line of a mango tree in his garden to have mangoes almost thru out the year and also the mangoes are much sweeter.

Oscar is right. The fermented juice from the cacao beans tastes great. And if you drink a mugful, you get a nice kick, like two shots of whiskey!!

I have had almost similar problems with my Feijoa plants. The ones I planted in the ground are slow growers, but the one I kept in the pot is growing very well.

Nice Fruit Oscar. Do you have seeds to sell? Chandramohan.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Anyone growing Cassabanana?
« on: April 15, 2015, 09:59:23 AM »
I had two vines of Cassa. The fruits had absolutely no smell and the ripe fruits could not be eaten as there was hardly any flesh to eat being full of seeds. In little flesh there was, was tasteless . I ate a tender one, it was like eating a firm crunchy cucumber. May be the seeds I bought from TopTropicals or Tradewinds was no good. I had let the vine up a tree and they started spreading to the neighboring betelnut trees and smothering them, so I cut down the vines. The seeds sprout very easily if soaked in warm water and placed between moist towels.

Hello,  Pepper plants need plenty of sun, but we always avoid the hot sun from the north-west from falling on the plants, until they are three or four years old. As regards fertiliser organic ones, like cowdung compost is the best, but please I do not know how the ones available in Canada smells!! Do not use inorganic fertiliser.

Hello!!  I have eaten this fruit, even though the is very little pulp on the seeds, it tastes like mango. Regarding the smell, I did not notice anything. I brought some seed, but after putting out a long root they died. Beni, can you send me some seeds thru my friend who will be coming to Solo? Chandramohan.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Miracle fruit - are these flowers?
« on: April 09, 2015, 10:02:35 AM »
What you have are definitely shoots. I have been propagating Miracle fruit plants by airlayering with great success. As my bush puts out more than one terminal shoot and there are a lot of lateral branches, instead of pruning and wasting, I air layer and give them to my friends. Chandramohan

I was searching on the internet, how to speed up my Garcinias, especially Mangosteen, and one source recommended putting Arbuscular Mycorrhizae into the root zone. To me this makes sense and I have already started doing it when I left India. I will know the result when I return in May.
