Hi folks, hope you had great holidays. I was wondering if there are magic tricks to force bloom on mango seedling. I have a seedling that is now 8-yr old and wondering what I can do to make it to bloom this year?

Any thoughts on someone who has been successful? Its a Lemon Zest seedling.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Mango Taproot Mystery

Weird thing happened today. I had planted a buttercream mango and after 3 years a sucker came up 8 inches away from the trunk. I thought oh it must me manila seed sprout that I planted around turpentine mango trees from Florida so I would inarch in the future and help droopyness issue.
I ended up grafting another mango on this sucker that I thought was a seedling. Today I wanted to pot this grafted mango, so I went digging, and was able to isolate all roots, it was down to taproot and I could feel it when hitting with showel. I slowly pulled it up and taproot snapped at 8" depth. I was amused and thought it would kill my plant. As I pulled the grafted plant out with massive feeder root mass, I saw the adjacent buttercream plant fall on it face. I was like WTF happened.
Then I went looking for taproot of buttercream and there was no taproot. Then I looked for the seedling taproot and there wasn't any there either. It turned out that buttercream taproot had hit a rock and turned sideways and it sprouted a sucker.

Has anyone ever witness this?

Well, we are there folks, Cherimoya in my yard are sizing up, some trees are behind others, but I expect small crop enough to taste, not a bumper crop given every year I get burned out fruits due to intense heat waves, plus I did not have enough time to pollinate them. I got Nata, Sabor, Helmut, Orton, Pierce, Campas, Campus, Behl, Deliciousa fruited. All others either burned out or dropped.

now with heat waves gone, cold temps on cards are excellent for Anona sizing up and sweetness. just pray we dont get rain for another 6 weeks, otherwise with cold temp and rain, fruits would split.

how is your garden looking for Anonas?

JF was generous to have me try Parsons mango and experiment its wood to see how it produces on other rootstocks. Parsons is a Juliette seedling and it scored in top 2 two years ago in So Cal Tasting.

My graft did not grow much as it kept blooming, so I let it fruit this year. I got over 24 mangoes on one pinnacle, a lot are hidden on the back side, had to thin it down to 5 max. look at what I got.
