Selling seeds of Hibiscus Sabdariffa
I too recieved the same pm and I suspected these two are scammers.
Admin should band these scammers
lol Ok buddy
Mangosteen always tasted like blood to me. Very irony flavorAhhh, interesting, Satya. I haven't had any of those, to my knowledge, though I have had Black Currant Jam. Thanks!black currant is closer to jaboticaba in flavor, probably, than to red currant. they are very different, even different flavor profiles. The black one is opaque, more earthy forest berry kind of flavor, and has much less acidity but more sweetness, and a tiny bit tartness. the red one is juicy, transparent and, as you said, has brightness to it. I think you can find it sometimes in markets and Whole foods when they are in season.
cbss_daviefl and Satya, Thank You for this information!
My apologies, ben mango--how would you describe the taste? I've read associations with peach, lychee, strawberry, pineapple, citrus, and mango . . . If you have a better description, I'll see if it rings true for me.
I bought two containers, each having 9 fruit. Out of about 12 fruit so far, 3 have been inedible, including the extremely hard-shelled one I described earlier. The others have looked like the one in my photo. Definitely have a "brightness" to them, like they were injected with Sprite. I enjoy them very much.
Well, I couldn't help but plant them . . . We shall see!Of course you had to. I'm heading to Costco tomorrow 🤗
Today I was able to try Frankie's #10 pineapple and man was it a winner! Super sweet and creamy, with some vanilla notes. Easily one of the best pineapples I've grown and eaten. It has a lot of similarities to the Meli Kalima (Honey Cream) pineapple which came from the same breeding effort. Brix came in around 18.
I'm hoping that with time I'll get slightly larger fruits. I went back and forth with when to pick the fruit, but after a lot of reading it seems like white or lighter colored flesh pineapples will get over ripe if allowed to turn fully gold. I'm happy with the stage I picked it and after cutting it open I feel more confident in that decision, but as I grow more out I'll likely experiment with ripening stages.
I'm planting the top and don't have propagative material to sell this time around, but this is one worth growing and I'll try to make it available as soon as I'm able.
I'm guessing it is an MD2 because they don't cut the tops off like they do the pink glow and ruby glow. Or possibly some other established variety since they're not taking steps to prevent propagation.
Isn’t honeyglow just another brand name for MD2?
I haven't eaten enough pineapples it seems. Babying these Dellermans and some others, hope I eventually agree.
Also, properly ripened pineapple is on par with mango in taste--absolutely amazing.
I agree the Maui Gold is a great fruit. Less acid than MD2. The other names 73-50, CO2 and MD1. It grows strong - less problems with heart rot. It can show more orange skin color.
I believe Maui Pineapple Company is the last and only commercial farm to cultivate that fruit. After the Lahaina fire, they lost their downtown store front and a good chunk of their tourist business, so I’ve probably bought a dozen or so fruit from them to show support. Fun team to talk to.
They can still use the support, should anyone want an excellent fruit experience. Worth the money. And definitely worth planting the crown. It’s a keeper.

Based on this post, it sounds like Maui Gold is MD1. I'm not an expert, but It's definitely different than the MD2 we get in stores. It might be worth reaching outto the farm to see if it's all one variety.
