Caimito (starapple) get worms?
« on: March 26, 2023, 08:09:14 AM »
Hey guys I've been noticing a few guava type worms in a few of my caimito this year.
Last year the fruit were pretty clean.
Anyone else get this problem? Are there solutions?

I hope that is just caribbean fruit fly?You did see maggots in the fruit not just those wind abrasions marks?
I have issues with caribbean fruit fly getting into abui frequently! If you suspect it could be a new invasive fruit fly i would report it to FDACS for eradication before it gets established.

Ive seen the maggots inside the fruit.
Never seen flies around the tree but it's also not one of the trees that I pay a whole lot of attention too.

The maggots look like the same ones you find in guava.
I'll try to take a picture of the inside if the fruit with on inside

Any methods of control?
