I was talking to another Forum member today and he was wanting to know the exact species of this plant...
All I could say was that I got them as seed from Miguel in Portugal and he calls them Sweet Uvaia:

Looks a lot like sundrop, but may be this:

Leaves look the same as the Eugenia pyriformis I grew from seed.

Marcos sells Sweet Uvaia seeds, but even he does not give a specific species name. He labels his, which look the same as in your pictures, as either being Eugenia pyriformis or E. lutescens.

E.pyriformis

Looks like the pitombas on my tree. Eugenia luschnathiana. Mine had a funky resin flavor and were sour. I let them die. :-\

Bummer. They cleft graft pretty easy. I have a few with scions from FL.

I may or may not tru pitomba again since they fruit fast but they seemed to be a disappointment for me like pitangatuba and surinam cherries I have purchased. They were low producers and I didn't like the fact that they were sour.

This must be a different plant because these fruits are really delicious.
Juicy, with a well balanced sweet and tart.
