Title: Can i root a papaya cutting ???
Post by: Plantinyum on February 04, 2022, 12:44:04 PM
Hi, this is my papaya from the gh which roots rotted away and today i salvaged the top portion since it was a goner anyway. Can i root it, how should i proceed to do so? Right now its sitting in a glass of water with some rooting hormone added.
Thanks for the heads-up !

You should be able root the cuttings as you can do the same for the related Babaco and Mountain Papaya. Probably soil is better than water.. Soil, rooting hormone, warm place and plastic bag just like any other cuttings. I would cut that into a few pieces though looks too long

Thanks, i will then cut it up ,but maybe just in a half since i want the cuttings to have more energy in them. I am skeptical ,but hopefully they do root...
