What in the h*** are you guys feeding those monsters? I had aome Big Jims and they were only the size of a ping pong ball. Give me the mix guys. Are you using anything special? Foliar feeding or particular watering?

I don't remember fertilizing it the first year of planting. I planted it and watered it once a week, if super hot 2x a week. This is the first season that it's getting fertilized. I did put a thick layer of mulch around it at planting.

I think it was just a little over a year since I grafted it. My wife was against me planting it in ground since all the loquat she tasted around the neighborhood was terrible. But I planted it in ground anyways. This year she got to taste the big Jim fruit and she loves it so much, she wants me to graft more lol. I’m still waiting for the vista white that I got from you. I grafted the big Jim and vista white into one tree. Big Jim set the bar pretty high lol.

Loquat tree on far left in the picture. It took off once planted in ground.

These are from the big Jim scions I got from you Kaz. There’s still some on the tree that are even getting bigger.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Wtb true seedless guava

I got it for 150 in a 15g last year. But I highly doubt that it’s still the same price this year. Of course the tree looks like it was just up potted. Lol seems like it belonged in a 7g max.

You were lucky you were able to found one there.  I went there many time last year, no luck.  Crystal seedless.

Pinkturtle, did your crystal seedless grafts ever take? still looking for crystal scions to graft.

They didn’t have crystal seedless. I got the Taiwanese seedless. Heard crystal taste better but couldn’t find it either so settled for Taiwanese. Also found a seedless variety called diamond guava from a Taiwanese nursery in Arcadia.

Thanks everyone for all the inputs. It’s been super informative since I’m new to the seedless guava game. Seems like seedless guava is quit hard to obtain still and not readily available.

I found this videos regarding seedless guava and the difference in leaves when young and mature. Does the tree in the video look like a Crystal Guava to you guys?

not sure on the exact variety. But take said seedless guava, he said it was the taiwanese seedless. The leaves were very round not long and oval like other guava's. So I'm assuming its the crystal guava.

thanks all. I was able to get one at Mimosa. He had 1 left in the back. About 5' with two long branches for $150 which I think is pretty reasonable.

I got most of my df cuttings, including desert king from Brad and no where was it close to those ridiculous prices. People on Facebook are hyping it way out of control.
