How big is your property in acres or hectares?

Mango manor said Fruit Cocktail.Who's "mango manor?" Never mind. I found his YouTube channel. He puts rocks around his trees. That's weird.
Is orange sherbet a vigorous tree like VP or PPK?They say it's more manageable than PPK or LZ, but not dwarfish. You can see how Vic's tree looks--bushy, not tall.
Does it have a manageable growth habit?
A few Honey Kiss and M4s would still be hanging, however, the critters whom have been feasting all year are zeroing in on the last of them, and now safe on the counter. Additionally, within the last week harvested Lemon Zest, Pickering, Sweet Tart, and Cotton Candy.Whoa, Pickering had a long season. What a champ!
Finally sold out of boxes. Only mangos left are for personal consumption. Thanking everyone for their orders + nice feedback.Gotcha, so what are your late varieties still left on your trees?
My orange sherbets new leaves tend to come out light yellow. So not brown, like mine?
Oh God, killed by terrorists?? Where did this happen? Are there any seed vendors you can totally endorse?
If they still exist, Silverhill Seeds. They were great. The owners were killed by terrorists a few years back, so I'm not sure they're still around. But when the original owners ran the business I had so many good purchases from them. They were one of the few I recall that were honest about the viability of their seeds. Once I inquired for a certain species of Tabernaemontana and they told me that the seeds they had were already too old, and they would have to take another botanical excursion to collect more. They explained they would need to be express shipped, since they were recalcitrant seeds. I ordered a ton Sclerocarya birrea ssp. caffra seeds from them once, and the huge box of seeds made it to California without any hiccups. Excellent germination rates. Lots of other things from them that I ordered seemed to always have good germination rates.
Yes the leaves look the same. Thanks, Vic. And the new leaves of your grafted trees look like this at first? https://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=48319.msg467107#msg467107
Smell the sap in the leaf petiole. They have that strong citrus fragrances.Yes! Even more so than PPK.
RT ticket to Peru included?i think you are right, reed is slightly better than nabal.
GEM, lamb, sir prize are all inferrior to regular hass and gwen. Just my honest opinion.
GEM is a nice tree and makes loads of fruit. BUT once the fruit sits on your counter and gets soft they look terrible and then you eat it and oil level is just not there and the flesh color is slighty off. Soes not have the same nice green color of hass.
im going to do a video where I show these trees and I chop them all down.
I definitely need you to come do a tasting in ten years or so when all my seedlings are producing. You're like a restaurant critic, but instead of restaurants it's just avocados that you criticize.
Denise sounds interesting, how big is the mother tree? This could be a winner for me if the tree is not terribly cold sensitive.Yes, I'd like to know more. Also, Carlos, do you think Monroe would be a good pollinator for Dupuis?
im going to do a video where I show these trees and I chop them all down.Woo-hoo, sounds like fun!
Yeah, can you tell us why you don't like mangoes? Deep mystery. Are you allergic? I mean, dragonfruit and black sapote over mango? That's a distressing concept.almost 10 year update...

Hey Digi! You gotta get to SoFL summertime and try some of our old school and designer mangoes. Curious as to how mango didn't make your list at all.
This thread is a nice break from the norm. GEM has been so heavily hyped and after trying the fruit many times, I've never seen the reason based on flavor and texture. So you're saying that GEM fruit is definitely inferior to original Hass? For all the effort they've put into creating an improved Hass, they just haven't been successful?! But isn't GEM supposed to replace Hass commercially?
Didn't know that. Thanks. There's always Tropical Acres Farms if no one else can help you.
yeah, i tried, they only sell grafted plants and you have to wait 6-12 months after you make a request. I just want scions to topwork a tree.
