Climate wise yes they will fruit well in Melbourne Beach.  Your main problem if you are right on A1A will be salt spray.  I am four houses West of A1A in Mel Beach.  Before my sapodilla and seagrape windbreak got big enough my mangos would suffer anytime we got hard onshore winds.  I have friends who have given up trying to grow them beachfront, because even on the West side of their house they die after a few days of onshore wind.  Hope it helps.

Would this rootstock help with that?

I doubt it.  It is salt spray from the ocean that is the problem not high salt content in the soil.

Greetings! Have you had any fruit/seeds yet? Just checking in. Thanks!

Yes I have fruit on the tree right now but it will still be a bit longer before they are ready to harvest.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Dragonfruit cuttings
« on: March 31, 2020, 10:16:48 AM »
I have had few people ask how many cuttings I will be able to fit per box.  I can fit at least 15 in a medium box and at least 20 in a large box.  I dont have a small box on hand right now but I think I can fit 7 in there.

I haven't tried both so I can't comment on that.   I disagree with the low production of the fairchild 2 statement.  I have two trees and they are both consistent heavy producers. While they might not be everywhere they at least can be very heavy producers.  Fairchild 2 is my favorite out of trompo, and Oro.

Abacaxi is the best pineapple I've ever tried.

That's awesome I can't wait to try it out myself. So where did you get some from?

A very generous friend who lives a few streets away from me.  I'll have to ask him where he got them originally next time I see him.

That looks like an abacaxi to me.

Mango and jackfruit will work.  Sapodilla will be the best but it grows a lot slower than the other two.  I had a black sapote that did well but I didn't like the fruit so I took it out.
