I live 20 miles from Itamaraca Island from which a variety of mango got its name. I have tasted Itamaraca mangos. If it is Itamaraca it stays green when ripe like the Espada variety. Espada mango has more fibre than Itamaraca and form is different.

If I might suggest you could divide your quest in Palms and other fruit trees having edidle nuts. Here in Brazil we have different types of palms  with the nut edible: Babassu,coconut etc   And then we have fruit trees like Cashew Apple, Brazil nuts etc. I have never come across a table with Toxicity of Seeds. But I know that Anona seeds are toxic/poisenous. Do you eat or extract oil of Caimito seeds, a sapotacea ??

When you eat unripe fruits  most of them have higher content of VitaminC than the ripe ones.  Also in cooking an unripe fruit you are denaturing many of the elements and changing the taste and many times the texture of the fruit

I have three Jujube plants ( var  mauritania). They were from seed and today are  4 meters tall. All three flower but only one bore a few fruits last year. Do you think your technique would help fruiting ? How does it work ?

Could some member help we to identify if the flower buds in the attached photos are of Syzygium aromaticum ?. Some time back  I was sold a seedling of Cloves. The plant grew up and flowered. If they are clove buds, at what stage should I pick and dry them up to use them as condiment ?

 Jackfruit is an excellent fruit whether you consume it when raw (before being ripe) after boiling or when ripe. The biggest handicap is its sap
  which makes the knife blades used to open the fruit, sticky. To lessen this problem some people smear the knife with cooking oil others clean the blades with a solution of citric acid. Any other alternatives to lessen the mess ?

Living in a tropical area with a lot of humidity,  mold is a problem.   What  easily available agents could be added to the dried seeds without compromising the germinative power of the seeds to avoid this problem?.

Araza like guava fruit has a lot of pectin. I make araza jam by  :  1  Wash fruit  well   2. Cut in half    3 Cook with some water in pressure cooker to make them soft 4. After cooling , mash the fruit and pass through a sieve to remove the seeds.  Discard the seeds.  5. Measure volume of filtered material and add equal volume of sugar.  6. Cook under fire untill the mixture thickens with the jam consistency.  7. Fill in glass jars.
When cool store in refrigerator.  Thicker the jam, it lasts longer

Platynum: Have you ever tried eating an unripe Papaya ? If you pick up a really green one and  boil it with a pinch of salt , you can eat it as it tastes like a vegetable. Buying it unripe and storying it outside the refrigerator untill it ripens, it slows the mould growth like that on the photo. If you put an unripe store bought papaya in the refrigerator,  it slows the ripening process and the mould growth as well.
         I have tried rubbing cooking oil , gypsum powder  when I bring from the store, but cannot get rid of the mould.

No doubt it is a mould which grows in areas which get bruised in handling after pick  up. After bringing the fruit home I wash them with soap and water. Next dry the fruit. How could I avoid the growth of the mould ???

I live in Recife, northeast Brazil. Near the city we have an island called ITAMARACA and the local hawkers sell a variety of mango called MANGA DE ITAMARACÁ, which is green in colour even when ripe and quite sweet. I do not have a photo to send you because now these mangoes are out of season.  You can get them in the months of december -february.  Would like a photo of the mango you decribe to compare.

I had to cut a Syzygium cumini tree as its roots were compromising my tubewell. Would like to know if there is any chemical product which when applied would decompose the buried tree stump faster and avoid regrowth of the tree

Another item which needs to be specified  is if  you are looking for a coconut opener for a green (tender) coconut  to consume the water and white  soft  matter - for this a hole saw attached to an eletric drill does the job in a simple way.  To open a dried coconut you need to dehusk it first - then crack with a machete and use a grater to remove the white matter. You get hand graters in form of a spoon  and graters you can attach to a motor or eletric drill. If interested I will be glad to send details. There are several  coconut dehusking gadgets described in You Tube.
