Tropical Fruit Discussion / Fertilizer for na dai sugar apple?
« on: January 06, 2022, 02:27:43 PM »
From what I've read sugar apples need 3:10:10 but I can't find that formula anywhere but shady retail sites. What fertilizer am I supposed to use on my sugar apples?

Just sprouted my first red and white jabos. And your videos were a huge inspiration. Got some superior lemon drop mangosteen coming in also.

28
Hopefully you didn't use friends and family option. Because then you're most likely sunk. If not open a dispute and paypal should handle for undelivered goods or services

29
Did you get the ordered items?

I have purchased from them more than once and they have good service and the cuttings were very healthy. Maybe you should try to give them a call to find out what happened to your order. Your item may have gone out of stock when you ordered it.

My stupid self thought in stock meant ready to ship. Learned that wasn't the case after contacting them.

I don't know about fruit production but the plants def grow ridiculously fast. I planted my seeds a month ago and they're already a foot tall

My white sapote, and mulberries are all flowering and fruiting. Same here lows of like 55 and highs of high 70s

34
Edit: after contacting them found out in stock does not mean ready to ship. Nowhere on the product page does it say this but live and learn. Doesn't even have estimated shipping times for each product.

Have experienced sudden death of cempedak seedlings, not as easy as jackfruit. Our cempejacks are going very well.

The one I'm getting is supposedly fruiting age so fingers crossed

Get ready to start watching some paint dry and water boil...these things grow slowwww in the sub-tropics. I would recommend Luc’s for cold hardiness and easiness to grow. The only fruit I’ve eaten out of the Garcinia’s is Purple Mangosteen and Achacha. They were both really tasty with Achacha having a floral thing going on (like in some lychees) and purple mangosteen having a nice mellow citrusy flavor without the tart...Good luck in your search, I have some extra seedlings of seashore mangosteens in 1 gallons, and maybe a couple of other Garcinia’s laying around...if interested lemme know

I have a friend who has a lemon drop that produces a few fruit but not much. But it gives me hope

I think you'll be especially pleased with those Thai Dwarf Mulberries.
As soon as they break dormancy you should start seeing fruit.

Good Luck!

Kevin
One is already leafing out  ;D ;D

For USDA seed import permit, I just have Annona seed from Mexico.  You need to have the green and yellow label on the front of the package with the permit inside with a list on inventory.  Raul mails it to the USDA office on the green and yellow label (Escondido for me).  USDA will then forward package to your address on the permit after inspection at no additional cost.

Permit Info:

Thanks for the tip. Applied for mine and under 5 minutes and got it in less than 10

I have like 15 honeyhart seeds right now. I planted 2 in just 3in pots with potting mix, 2 in a wet paper towel, 2 in vermiculite, and the rest im going to let dry for a year like someone suggested then planting them. The ones in the potting soil sprouted after 2 weeks so far thats the fastest

49
Can I just graft onto my fuyu and make a cocktail tree or should I get new rootstock specific for grafting?
