Temperate Fruit Buy, Sell, & Trade / American persimmon seeds
« on: September 24, 2022, 04:08:07 PM »
Have tons of fresh 2022 American persimmon seeds available for sale or trade. 10 seeds for $3 but if you for 100 seeds I'll do $20. That's a $10 discount for the bulk quantity based off proportionate price. Price of whatever seed quantity plus applicable shipping.

I'll be willing to make trades too. I'd really love to try a quality pawpaw fruit this year while they are in season. If the seeds from me don't completely offset what the prospective trader needs to ship a fruit we can work out a partial payment deal. Willing to trade for other stuff as well. Make offers! I'm into all things edible and medicinal from fruit to veggies and herbs. Particularly looking for self heal herb, mushroom herb, lemon verbena, mounjean(spelling?) tea herb, burdock, elechampane, feverfew, anise, chervil, echinacea, etc. Thanks for any offers!

I wouldn't have a problem with that if I were near the trees. They are in my father's yard 8 hrs south of me.

Thanks for the glowing feedback! I try to only sell nice looking plants. Won't offer them if they aren't up to par. Hope they grow well for you!

Bunches of small moringas ready to go at shipping size. Recently trimmed down and now growing back.

There's definitely wild forms of a true cherry as far down as the mid state at least naturally occurring. Up here in the panhandle there's definitely wild black cherry and maybe sour bird cherry too. They don't look much like a store bought cherry necessarily. Much smaller in size. Don't think most quality cherry varieties would do well whatsoever here. I did once see a very low bush with what appeared to be store looking and sized "cherries" on the plant near the Alexander springs camp ground many, many years ago. They weren't ripe at the time so didn't try them. Looked just like a store cherry but still green. Have no clue if it truly was a cherry or not though. Damn near identical. Maybe a seedling from thrown seeds??? Idk.

Pretty soon all seeds will be sprouted and too far along to ship. If interested make orders now. I'm getting ready to plant a bunch of the sprouted seeds today that are too far along already to ship. Many seeds with just the tap root starting which are ideal for shipping. Still unsprouted seeds but not for long.

Gaurobi, how much would you sell some of your seedlings for? Or perhaps trade for something?

Road past a huge pineapple guava that used to be at the roadside down the street from my work. Some dumbass chopped it down! Just about two weeks ago. Fortunately I picked a ton of fruits last year and enjoyed them. Unfortunately no seeds in any of them. Had really good large fruits. What a shame. Simeone didn't know or appreciate what they had near the end of their driveway. Heartbreaking...

Some nice seedlings still available

Definitely would like to try triloba fruits from wild or cultivars specimens. Sure they are fairly decent even if a wild type.

I've seen a few people selling fruits on here before. I think their ripening season should be happening soon if it's not already. I too would want to try a few fruits. My two trees flowered for the first time this year but didn't set fruit. Maybe next year. Did find some wild triloba trees here in the Florida panhandle but it's on land I cannot access without permission. They had fruit on them too just starting a few months back this spring. Gotta find some trees on publicly accessible land.

Still some of these available

Never heard of wild cherries in Florida though I'm not too familiar with the panhandle. Blackberries, grapes, pecans, and wild oranges and wild grapefruit I have seen though citrus is not technically native. Never saw cherries.

The wild cherries here are not very similar in size to store bought cherries. Much smaller and might not be recognized as cherries at all. I've seen them up in people's yards but have yet to find a fruiting one where I can get to it. Tried growing some from more northward but they really didn't like it here. Best to find some from trees around the panhandle area.
Black cherry is in the bird cherry group, so it is distinct from most of the rest of the prunus genus. They should be able to survive anywhere a pecan will grow--maybe even a little further south. Highlands County is about the furthest south I have seen them. Most of the wild plums and cherries were cleared about 100 years ago for citrus land. I believe that Cherry Laurel (which is ib the prunus genus) grows in your vicinity, but it does not produce edible fruits according to most sources.

Cherry laurel as far as I know is poisonous. Good looking tree potentially but not useful. My dad has one on his property in Northern west central Florida. Took me awhile to figure out what it was. Does has a cherry like scent to it.

More fresh seeds available. Bulk seed possible and will figure a discount. Fruits really sweet and pleasant.

In the least it would be more professional to know what you're selling. Idk if the law requires that you have to know a species when you sell it. Are you trying to sell ornamental plants or edible species from perennial vegetables to fruit trees? If you are into permaculture edibles like katuk, chaya, potato mint, etc then hit me up via pm. Have a bunch to get one started with. Best of vibes getting it going.

« on: August 09, 2022, 06:11:27 PM »
Bunches of chickasaw plum seeds available. Makes a great rootstock for many prunus species. Very prolific fruiters on their own right. Fruit is pretty good. Some come out more tart than others but are generally good enough to eat out of hand. 5 seeds for $3 plus applicable shipping.

Thanks! DG

Ryan is a cool young man. Help him out! I would if I had a better means to keep more tropicals than I already have alive.
