Hi guys,

My grafted tree was fine but last year it was not good.  It produced very little oranges and tangerines.  They are smaller then previous years and have black darken skin.  But lemon is OK.
I sprayed foliage  2x a year in spring and summer.  I also feed 8-6-8 fertilizer every month.   I water lot every week from pond water.  Is anyone know what's wrong with my tree and should I worry?

Thank you
Tony

My Sweetheart is starting to flower, this will be the first year I let it hold fruit. I hope they are as good as your Brewsters Kaz!

Nice Nate.   Mine fruited last year and i harvested in Sept.  You and I are in same city.  When did you stop feeding it?

Alright guys.  It's not good.  Last Sunday, I saw it crack on tree, took it in the house and left it in kitchen counter.   Here is how it looks.  Does anyone have any idea?  Thanks

Hi guys,

I grafted it on my brother's tree couple year ago.  Finally, there is a first fruit and want to know how we can tell or when to harvest it?  Lately, it's rain alot, I'm afraid it will split.

Thanks
Tony

So far it's good and sweet harvest late August.  I'm still trying to learn how to prepare for next year fruit and fertilize it.

Hi Ripple
I like to graft onto young harden shoots using cleft. Your 3rd photo is the size I usually use.
Here's a picture of the size I use, almost like toothpick size.

I'm not 100% sure.  Most seeds are like this from this year but there are few big seeds too.

Welcome to TTF.
I used cleft graft on young scions about chopstick size like your 2nd pic.  Rootstock was from my parent in-law's air layer.  It was little bigger then your picture but i think yours is doable.   I did not do it in summer so i am not sure you still do it or not.

if you just bought them, i would suggest to plant it in ground to make sure it has strong root before graft.
Good luck with your project.

I appreciate it.
