I grafted some Paw Paw scions onto my Cherimoya tree this year and initially had some success with about 6 out of 7 taking and starting to push. Since the initial push only one or two are still doing good, the other ones have either died or are starting to shrivel up. Does anyone have any long term success grafting Paw Paw onto Cherimoya? Hereís a picture taken today of the best one still doing good

I have a dwarf Meyer lemon tree Iíve been grafting mandarins and oranges onto the last couple years. They are all growing well but have not fruited yet as grafts are still young.

So, will grafting oranges/mandarins onto lemon rootstock make the fruit have sour notes? I read somewhere that it could but was hoping someone on here has personal experience. Thanks

I got you, just cut some yesterday, hit me up

Joe has some really nice, very rare (not gonna find anywhere else), super fresh seeds right now from his exciting seed hunting expeditions. Check out his store. Highly recommended! Great seller, excellent communication, and very fast shipping. He also has the first hand knowledge since he was actually in the jungles (Iíve seen his mosquito bite scars to prove it  :o) getting bitten up, gathering these special seeds for us to preserve and enjoy. He also gives back to the local communities, not just taking seeds...much respect for that as well.

So guys and girls, where can I get a male tree?  Its required to get fruit off the grafted tree correct?  I probably need to go ahead and source and plant one.

Do you have any suckers coming from the rootstock? You may already have a male tree...I have one sucker coming from my rootstock Iím praying is male. Thereís a woman up north who can sex the trees for people through leaf samples.

With my luck Iíd probably end up grafting onto a rootstock that was already infected haha

Hey Simon, did you treat your trees from Kens order for the RKN before planting in the ground? Any idea if that first round order with Ken had them? If so guess Iím already screwed because my trees been in the ground for months, yay...

I put mine in the ground a long time ago, its doing fine.  Not even worth worring about at this point.  Not about to dig up the tree.

There were some kind of nodules on the roots we thought they were nitrogen fixers at the time.  But they all fell off when the roots soaked in a bucket beforing potting.

You could get nematodes from any plants you buy at a store too right?  Or if you live in a neighborhood, your neighbors yards could have them.  They could have all kinds of crazy things going on over there...

  :)

Cool. Ya man Iíve bought soooo many seedlings from tropical locales Iíd be surprised if a seedling or two over all these years didnít have one or two along the way...not gonna stress and start digging trees up either, ainít nobody got time for dat!  ;)
