I am also willing to send the surinam cherries themselves.   I have waaaaay more than I can possibly consume.

I got the seeds today.  Thank you again and if you would like any loquat, surinam cherry seeds or anything else I have as it comes into season, just let me know.  I really appreciate it!

Canistel - I planted it without ever tasting the fruit based on the recommendation of a guy at the nursery.  Needless to say it is not my kind of thing.  I can't bring myself to chop it down because the thing is just so darn healthy and produces well.  I hear it is good with ice cream so perhaps I will try that next time.

I mourn the loss of a variegated pink lemon that needed to be relocated and didn't make it.

It looks like shipping the plant is cost prohibitive (seemingly I need some sort of certificate for $40 before even the cost of shipping) so the plant is only available for local pick up but I do have a small seedling (about a foot tall) as well as a BUNCH of miracle fruit themselves up for trade.  I am willing to express mail them to anyone with something to offer.

Let me know what you have up for grabs.  I have 5 miracle fruit plants and they currently produce more than I can use.  I figured I can thin the herd and get something new in its place.

I will happily trade my Oliver Loquat seeds for any other seeds that will grow in South Florida.  Feel free to private message me if you would like to trade.

Thanks folks.  It was getting very laborious to track down a turpentine mango seedling.  I am now trying my hand at grafting and want to get the best results I can.  I thank you very much for your input and will source a different rootstock based on your recommendations.  Any other tips for someone just starting out?

The loquat is an Oliver.  Please feel free to private message me if you are interested.

I have a garden containing: Sugar Cane, Miracle Fruit, Lychee, Longan, Canistel, Loquat, Bardados Cherry, Surinam Cherry, Nam Doc Mai Mango, Myer Lemon, Jaboticaba and more.  I am offering cuttings or, when available, seeds in exchange for similar.  I am mostly looking for small plants of any variety of mango, avocado, sapodilla or citrus but will look at anything cool that I don't have.  I love in Parkland (South Florida) and will happily add cash to the deal if someone has something enticing.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Wanted: best root stock for mangos
« on: March 23, 2013, 07:52:06 AM »
I am looking for information on the best root stock to use for a mango cocktail tree.  I was told by a local botanical garden that turpentine mango is the most coveted for this purpose.  Do you have any other suggestions or ideas where i can buy a turpentine mango tree or seed?  I love in south florida and am looking for anyone who has something interesting to sell or trade.

I was told that it was the best root stock for grafting multiple mango varieties on to for South Florida.  If you know one that is a better choice but easier to find, I would love the suggestion.

Does anyone have any turpentine mango seeds, fruit or plants that they are looking to sell.  No nursery in South Florida seems to have them.  Any guidance as to where I can find it in south florida would be greatly appreciated.

Any mango or citrus scions available currently?
