Which is real Cowa mangosteen(Garcinia cowa)?

The first 2 pictures seem completely different. Many other pictures may be related, G.cowa seems to loose ribs during maturation...
4. looks actually like pedunculata???

Roy, photo 9 appears to be the 'true' Garcinia cowa, and matches the leaf and fruit descriptions on India Biodiversity.

I believe you are correct on Garcinia kydia, but information is scarce.

According to  the site on Indianbiodiversity,photos 9 & 14 are fruits of Garcinia cowa which is available in some parts of Kerala and Karnataka but what I have seen in Mizoram,Chengkek is Garcinia cowa and the photo numbers 1 & 2 match with this species.I always thought the Garcinia fruit resembling tomato is Garcinia cowa.

I got confused as some sources state G.kydia as synonym of G.cowa.

According to plantlist however G.kydia is listet as independent species!

R.L. Badhwar in his book"Edible wild plants of The Himalayas"  page no 66 described the fruit of Garcinia cowa
"Fruit roundish,about 5 cm(2 in) across,slightly 6-8 lobed,dull red outside & orange inside when ripe,4-8 seeded,with a branched knob on top"
