Taste.                : mix of sweet sour and salty
Native indonesian fruit spread from maluku in east to sumatra in west
Bushy tree with red color on young shoot leaf  , the fruit mostly appearing in the steem .

There is a tree of the giant fruiting type in a council park near me.Ifind the taste more like sour apples in a tough leathery form.

If you talk about nam nam then you must be lie mike .. Giant tree ? It must be hundred years old tree .. And nam nam taste was really mix of sour and sweet , no ones gonna eat and sell this tree if it really has a such bad taste you describe ..

afriadoni you had better search the forum for the large fruited variety that I posted pictures of before where I describe the taste.You may also wish to look at where I discussed this species on the Daleys nursery that you postedwhere I show the trees and fruit.As you know it is a small legume tree almost identical to the C.iripa mangrove.
I didn't say it was a large tree just there is a giant fruiting form.Sour apple (like granny smith) is not a bad taste.The flesh is a bit leathery and I know this species well.

I am not after respect afriadoni or to look good at someone else's expense.Who cares about that stuff.

I think there is a language problem where you are interpreting comments as negative or misunderstanding what is said.I said there is a large fruiting form with thicker flesh not tree and this is independant of weather.I can't taste the salt in nam nam but sour/sweet I can.

I will try to be careful with comments about people's products but won't sugar it.Nam nam is a lovely treebut will never  set the world on fire.

Is this this the same species? I accidentally stumbled upon this tree at somebody's home garden in Sri Lanka. Upon tasting the fruit I did not bother asking forum what kind of fruit it is .

Looks like them alright but thefruit aremore wrinkled than usual.There are many in the Genus DL.

please don't make it personally Roy , i will only swap all of my seeds with fig cuttings .. or you could just buy them from me..
every time i got money from this forum i use it to buy fig cuttings from europe ..
