Looks like wind damage.Not uncommon this time of year.

I was looking for indicators of mite when i first looked ,but did not see any.

I agree. It looks like wind damage. It wouldn't hurt to spray sulfur, though. It is only a matter of time before the mite shows up in Lake Placid.

Yes, I would agree it has to do with the wind, are the trees around in the same condition or is it just this one?
