My college has a bunch of these palms planted, which are giving off a lot of fruit. Is this edible? Does it taste any good?

Its a Christmas palm (Adonidia merrillii)
Never thought about eating the fruit before though, I googled
them and it seems they are edible but taste like crap, I personally
wouldn't eat them.
